Ganns’ Top 10 – June 2, 2012

After three weeks at #1, Jimmy Needham’s If I Ever Needed Grace slips to #3, losing the top spot to the oh-so-chill, oh-so-encouraging Go Get It by Mary Mary. With this new #1, Mary Mary now boasts of a remarkable shelf life of 12 years, since the ladies’ first #1 hit on my chart, Shackles (Praise You).

Acapella group Pentatonix, the ground on which they walk I worship – JOKE, but yeah, kinda – has ascended to #1 with its creative take on Gotye’s smash hit, Somebody That I Used to Know. I never cared for the original, but the way that Pentatonix worked it out gave the song a unique, somber feel that is just all shades of wow.
