Billboard.com says these ten are the top ten Christian songs, in terms of chart performance and radio airplay, in the United States, as of May 22, 2010. I share my thoughts afterward.
Five Christian songwriters to love
There are many, many amazing Christian songwriters out there, including Casting Crowns’ Mark Hall, MercyMe’s Bart Billard, Aaron Shust, Nichole Nordeman, Nicole C. Mullen, Rich Mullins, and the incomparable Bill and Gloria Gaither. As a Filipino-Christian songwriter, it is only natural that I am bound to have influences when it comes to my songwriting. These are my five favorite Christian songwriters, just to share.
Ashmont Hill’s Show My Love is a hit
It’s no secret that I love Ashmont Hill. I was initially concerned about the sophomore jinx hitting one of my favorite Christian vocal groups, but if Show My Love, Ashmont Hill’s new single, is any indication, I think my worries are unfounded. Ashmont Hill’s Show My Love is a hit.

As of May 8, 2010, these are my top 10 favorite songs. Ashmont Hill blasts onto my chart at #1. Based on my iTunes, guys, this song could be the #1 single of the year for me, personally. In its first week, I’ve played it more than 60 times. Secret’s Magic, at #2, received 41 plays. Next week should be interesting, because Super Junior’s new single drops this week! Oh, how exciting the musical times are!
