Miss Universe 2010 is about to kick off, and this year’s batch of beauties is one of the best in recent memory. (Either that, or the countries participating have really topnotch Photoshop artists.) There’s so much talent and so much beauty in this particular batch that I had a difficult time picking 20 girls, when normally, I’m happy with five to eight. I’ve found, though, that my taste varies from the rest of the world’s, at least as far as the Leaderboard on Global Beauties is concerned. Most of my 20 aren’t in their initial list. Oh well. Here are my Top 20 beauties in random order:

Albania

Australia

British Virgin Islands

Colombia

Denmark

Dominican Republic

Egypt

Ghana

Guatemala

India

Jamaica

Japan

Korea

Mexico

Netherlands

Philippines

Puerto Rico

Russia

USA

Venezuela
Of all the beauties, I’d say my top five right now based on sheer looks are Philippines (Venus Raj is our best bet since Miriam), Denmark (the most luscious lips since Angelina Jolie), Russia (classic patrician beauty), Ghana (Hello? Naomi Campbell? Iman? Tyra Banks? Isdatchu? Ang lakas ng dating ng Photoshop, lol), and British Virgin Islands (Beautiful smile, beautiful eyes, beautiful skin… she looks like such a gentle, genuinely sweet human being).
Who are your favorites?
