Renowned praise and worship leader Darlene Zschech has released her own version of the up-and-coming worship classic Waymaker, featuring William McDowell off her new release, Revere.
Recorded in Africa, where the song was birthed by Nigerian singer Sinach, this version of Waymaker has many elements that make it a unique and powerful version in its own right. It features William McDowell, the pastor of Deeper Fellowship Church. It features a strong choir. And of course, it features Darlene’s evergreen vocal.
In the midst of the many difficult things happening all over the world, including the thousands of deaths from the coronavirus, it can be difficult to focus on God and trust that He is working things out. Darlene’s version reminds us that He is working ordinary miracles every day. Despite the loss of life, there are still millions more who have been healed from it; Darlene’s remission from cancer is its own miracle story. There are stories of people rising up and allowing God to use them to be His hands and feet to a world in desperate need of His healing. Waymaker is a solid addition to the soundtrack of how God will get us through 2020, and I hope this version blesses you in whatever season you’re in.
