Lauren Daigle, “Come Alive (Dry Bones)”

Contemporary Christian singer Lauren Daigle has released Come Alive (Dry Bones) from the deluxe edition of her Centricity debut album, How Can It Be. The song, which was originally featured as the title track on a worship album released by her record label, is a powerful song of comfort and intercession that finds its strength in its extraordinary lyrics.

Daigle has come a long way since her days on reality singing competition American Idol, three Top 10 hits and a Dove Award later, the confidence shows. Written by Daigle with songwriter Michael Farren, from the perspective of a believer who’s standing in the gap for a loved one who has experienced Christ but isn’t walking with God, it takes inspiration from Ezekiel 37, and encourages us to remember that God has power to breathe life into lives and hearts that seem dead; He is willing and able to breathe life into the dead, and to change lives and direction for His glory. It is an intercessory song that is both powerful and emotional, and stands to be one of the highlights of both Daigle’s debut release and her career.

COME ALIVE (DRY BONES)
Lauren Daigle

Through the eyes of men
It seems there’s so much
We have lost

As we look down the road
Where all the prodigals
Have walked
And one by one
The enemy has whispered lies
And led them off as slaves

But we know that You are God
Yours is the victory
We know there is more to come
That we may not yet see
So with the faith You’ve given us
We’ll step into the valley unafraid, yeah

As we call out to dry bones
Come alive, come alive
And we call out to dead hearts
Come alive, come alive
Come up out of the ashes
Let us see an army rise
We call out to dry bones come alive

Oh God of endless mercy
God of unrelenting love
Rescue every daughter
Bring us back the wayward son
By Your spirit breathe upon them
Show that You alone can save
You alone can save

As we call out to dry bones
Come alive, come alive
And we call out to dead hearts
Come alive, come alive
Come up out of the ashes
Let us see an army rise
We call out to dry bones come alive, Yeah

So breathe, oh breath of God
Now breathe, breath of God
Breathe oh breath of God
Now breathe

Oh breathe, breath of God
Now breathe, oh breath of God
Breathe, oh breath of God, now breathe

As we call out to dry bones
Come alive, come alive
And we call out to dead hearts
Come alive, come alive

Come up out of the ashes
Let us see an army rise
We call out to dry bones come alive, Yeah
We call out to dry bones…come alive
