Contemporary Christian pop/rock band Unspoken has released Higher, the single from its new album, Follow Through. Written by lead vocalist Chad Matson with songwriter and producer Seth Mosely (who co-produced the new album with Tedd T and Chris Stephens), Higher is decidedly different from 99% of Christian music out there, which makes for a truly delicious sonic experience.
The band has gone through a lot since its debut release, and the impact that God has made on their lives since the success of the first record clearly resonates in this song. More than the impressively catchy chorus melody, more than that red-hot brass section–who does that nowadays?! HOT!!–and more than that deceptively simple bridge intro, Higher offers the ever-relevant message of gratitude and praise in valley moments, packaged in an unconventional praise party anthem.
Definitely one of my favorite jams for 2016!
