Hillary Scott, lead vocalist of hit country vocal group Lady Antebellum, has released Thy Will, a moving ballad written by Scott with Bernie Herms and Emily Lynn Weisband and performed with her family–mother Linda Davis, father Lang Scott and younger sister Rylee Scott–off their new album, Love Remains.
An open letter and prayer to God expressing her trust in Him despite the difficult situation she has encountered, Thy Will is particularly moving not just because of the subject matter and the absolutely breathtaking delivery, but because of its orchestra-kissed arrangement. That string section, in particular, matches Scott note for note, and lends it a soaring, cinematic quality that is just lovely.
Thy Will has now spent over a month at No.1 on Billboard’s Christian Songs chart. Regardless of whether or not Lady Antebellum’s fans shifted the sales that have led to this extraordinary performance, Thy Will is gorgeous and deserves to be heard by everyone.
