Tenth Avenue North has released its new single, What You Want. Stylistically, it’s very different from its previous singles. It’s an accessible melody, especially with that simple prechorus and that catchy chorus. The band is experimenting with a little bit of electronica but still maintaining the essence of what Tenth Avenue North, and I am so pumped for the quality of What You Want. It’s my kinda jam!
Thematically, Mike Donehey and the rest of the gang challenge us to look at leadership differently, remembering that we are called first and foremost to be followers of Jesus. Epheasians 2:10 tells us that we are created in Christ to do good works that He has prepared us in advance for us to do. They challenge us to say Yes to the opportunities He presents, and leadership is the byproduct of being a great follower. What a novel idea, yet so biblically sound! May we always want what He wants for us!
