Former Group 1 Crew singer and now Word Records recording artist Blanca Callahan–who is now going with simply Blanca–has released her new single, Who I Am. Co-written by Blanca with Seth Mosley and Mia Fieldes, Who I Am is a midtempo declaration of identity in Christ. While not instantly as catchy as some of her previous work with Group 1 Crew, Who I Am has its own qualities that make for a great song, including that irresistible bridge. Just like her Word labelmate, Francesca Battistelli, Blanca’s strength lies in declaring scriptural truth in every day language, and that bridge pretty much sums it up. Now that Who I Am is now picking up at radio, I’m more confident now than ever before that Blanca will get the mainstream Contemporary Christian attention that eluded her when she was with Group 1 Crew. We can trust that she will point that attention back to Jesus Christ. :)
