Contemporary Christian singer and songwriter Jonathan Thulin recently topped Billboard’s Hot AC/CHR chart with Architecture, his second straight number one single, following Dead Come to Life last year. I hadn’t heard Architecture until recently, when one of the Saved Radio FM listeners requested, and boy, am I glad to hear this incredible track.
Written while Thulin was in Sweden – he was at a low point in his life when he wrote it – Architecture deals with the capability of God to give His children more than they can handle, because then they can call on God to help them triumph. As Thulin puts it, “I knew I would get through because God didn’t build me to fail.”
Architecture may be found on the deluxe edition of Thulin’s release, The White Room; he also headlines with Contemporary Christian praise and worship outfit pressplay.
ARCHITECTURE Lyrics
Jonathan Thulin
Your architecture, your architecture, your architecture, your architecture
Here I stand, here I stand on what you built
you are surrounding me
Here I stand, here I stand on what you built
you are surrounding me
Here I stand, here I stand on what you built
you are surrounding me
And the walls will never ever ever come down
No, the walls will never ever ever come down
You built me up like a city of gold
the battles rage but I’m standing tall
you formed my heart like an empire
the wind and rain can’t stop this fire
if only I could see it from your perspective
the beauty and the grace of your architecture
There are a million trees blowing in the wind
witnesses of lives already lived
so here I stand here I stand on what you built
you are surounding me and the walls
will never ever ever come down
