Korean super girl group SISTAR has released Give It to Me, the group’s second full-length album, preceded by the title track and first single. In one word: WOW.
SISTAR has been on a hot streak since Alone was released last year, and since then, they have registered such phenomenal chart performance that, at this point, it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to call them an A-level girl group alongside girl groups like 2NE1 and Girls’ Generation. Every single release since Alone – even the release of SISTAR19’s single Gone Not Around Any Longer – has gone straight to the top of the charts and won music shows in Korea.
For me, Give It to Me is one of SISTAR’s best releases. It’s actually my favorite SISTAR release of all time, to be honest. I love this single! I love the faux-disco beat, the irresistible chorus, the fact that all four contribute equally on the song, the rap parts… it all combines to underscore exactly why SISTAR is now one of the best and most successful girl groups in Korea. It’s just outstanding. Couple that with the accompanying MV, which is amazing – they’re hot, but not slutty – and the dance with that hand movement alongside the explosion of glitter — wow, just, wow.
It’s official: with Give It to Me, I am officially a STAR1 (SISTAR fan). Good job, ladies.
