Jason Gray, “Nothing is Wasted”

Contemporary Christian singer/songwriter Jason Gray has released a re-recorded version of Nothing is Wasted, a track off his A Way to See in the Dark release, as the carrier single of the EP of the same title. The Nothing Is Wasted EP is an iTunes-only release that features a radio remix and a piano vocal version of the title track.

A song about how the love and grace of God may be relied upon to prevail in anyone’s life, Nothing is Wasted has received 21 radio adds in its first street week, setting a new record. Centricity Music, Gray’s label, wasted no time in letting the CCM grapevine know of this remarkable feat, given that Gray’s past four singles all made the Top 10 of several Christian AC radio charts. (I saw the press release, and, well, color me impressed. But then again, I’ve come to expect nothing less of Centricity. They’re one of the best CCM indies in the United States today.)

NOTHING IS WASTED Lyrics
Jason Gray

The hurt that broke your heart
And left you trembling in the dark
Feeling lost and alone
Will tell you hope’s a lie
But what if every tear you cry
Will seed the ground where joy will grow

And nothing is wasted
Nothing is wasted
In the hands of our Redeemer
Nothing is wasted

It’s from the deepest wounds
That beauty finds a place to bloom
And you will see before the end
That every broken piece is
Gathered in the heart of Jesus
And what’s lost will be found again

Nothing is wasted
Nothing is wasted
In the hands of our Redeemer
Nothing is wasted

When hope is more than you can bear
When it’s too hard to believe it could be true
And your strength fails you halfway there
You can lean on Me and I’ll believe for you
And in time, you will believe it too

Nothing is wasted
Nothing is wasted
Sometimes we are waiting in sorrow we have tasted

But joy will replace it
Nothing is wasted
In the hands of our Redeemer
Nothing is wasted
