Contemporary Christian singer/songwriter Matthew West has released Hello My Name Is as the second single off Into the Light, his Grammy-nominated 2012 release. Carrier single Forgiveness topped Radio and Records’ Christian AC chart, but stopped short of number one on Billboard’s Christian Songs chart.
Matthew always makes great carrier singles, and Forgiveness was clearly a topnotch release, but I was a little underwhelmed by it. I feel very – VERY – differently about Hello My Name Is. I instantly loved Hello My Name Is the minute I heard it. It’s inspirational, it’s unique, and it’s just encouragement in a box. Christians everywhere will definitely be able to relate to Hello My Name Is, so I hope Christian AC radio programmers will be open to this amazing song.
