Australian praise and worship band Hillsong Live has released Cornerstone, the title track off its newest release, which drops across the United States on July 3rd, 2012, on Sparrow Records. Cornerstone is the 21st live release from the legendary praise and worship ministry, who are inspired to continually provide fresh songs of worship for use by the universal church, fueled by a deep passion to see people connect with the Living God in a real and personal way.
Cornerstone‘s verses come from the classic hymn, The Solid Rock (My Hope is Built). The group that sings includes luminaries like Reuben Morgan, Joel Houston, Ben Fielding, and Darlene Zschech, all singing alongside international Hillsong teams from London, Stockholm and Cape Town.
Cornerstone was written by Reuben Morgan as a response to the Norway shooting incident in 2011 that claimed the lives of more than 70 people. It will be released this July at the 2012 Hillsong Conference in Sydney.
CORNERSTONE Lyrics
Hillsong
My hope is built on nothing less
than Jesus’ blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
but wholly trust in Jesus’ name
My hope is built on nothing less
than Jesus’ blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
but wholly trust in Jesus’ name
Christ alone, Cornerstone
Weak made strong, in the Savior’s love
Through the storm
He is Lord, Lord of All
When darkness seems to hide His face
I rest on His unchanging grace
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil
My anchor holds within the veil
Christ alone, Cornerstone
Weak made strong, in the Savior’s love
Through the storm
He is Lord, Lord of All
He is Lord, Lord of All
Christ alone, Cornerstone
Weak made strong, in the Savior’s love
Through the storm
He is Lord, Lord of All
Christ alone, Cornerstone
Weak made strong, in the Savior’s love
Through the storm
He is Lord, Lord of All
Then He shall come with trumpets sound
Oh, may I then in Him be found
Dressed in His righteousness alone
faultless, stand before the throne
