Top Christian Songs (Billboard) – September 17, 2011

Contemporary Christian supergroup MercyMe makes it three weeks at the top of the Billboard Christian Songs chart with Move. Of course, for me, the real story is Matthew West’s rising up to #3 with Strong Enough. This is Matthew’s second Top 10 hit from The Story of Your Life; My Own Little World also cracked the Top 10 last year. It is his highest-charting single since The Motions went to #1 in 2009. This week welcomes five new songs into the Top 50: Drifting by Plumb featuring Jars of Clay’s Dan Haseltine (#42), Abandon’s Under Fire (#47), Esterlyn’s Freedom is Here (#48), Tenth Avenue North’s Times (#49), and Victory World Music’s Shake Heaven, new at #50 and featuring Montell Jordan and Beckah Shae.
