Phillips, Craig and Dean, “From the Inside Out”

Phillips, Craig, and Dean have released yet another single to radio off their 2009 opus, Fearless. One number one hit – Revelation Song – and several other Soft AC/Inspo hits later, the trio still hasn’t run out of singles, and From the Inside Out is one of the stronger ones on Fearless. Powerful and anthemic and chockful of the trio’s trademark harmonies, From the Inside Out is PCD’s take on the Hillsong chestnut; considering their rather countrified version of Revelation Song was well-received at both Christian AC and Soft AC, I’m led to imagine that From the Inside Out may very well follow that same path, if not for the fact that the album is two years old, an eternity in today’s attention-deficit world. From the Inside Out could speak to many, and Phillips, Craig, and Dean may have another Top 10 in their hands.

FROM THE INSIDE OUT Lyrics
Phillips, Craig and Dean

A thousand times I’ve failed
Still Your mercy remains
And should I stumble again
Still I’m caught in Your grace

Everlasting
Your light will shine when all else fades
Never-ending
Your glory goes beyond all fame

My heart and my soul
I give You control
Consume me from the inside out, Lord
Let justice and praise
Become my embrace
To love You from the inside out

Your will above all else
My purpose remains
The art of losing myself
In bringing You praise

And the cry of my heart
Is to bring You praise
From the inside out
Lord, my soul cries out
