Contemporary Christian singer/songwriter Laura Story has released her new single, Blessings, to Christian AC and Soft AC/Inspo radio. Most popularly known for her take on Reuben Morgan’s worship anthem Mighty to Save, Story has also logged in several other radio singles and album tracks, including Grace, What a Savior, Indescribable, and Perfect Peace, that have registered well with listeners across the United States and internationally. Her soothing voice and earnest delivery have certainly earned my respect for her; other Christian acts like Chris Tomlin and Aaron Shust would agree.
With Blessings, the title track and carrier single of her new album, which drops via INO Records across the United States and internationally in digital and CD formats in April 2011, Story hopes to encourage people into seeing how everything around them can be a blessing. I think we’ll find this achingly beautiful ballad will minister to millions.

BLESSINGS Lyrics
Laura Story
We pray for blessings
We pray for peace
Comfort for family
Protection while we sleep
We pray for healing
For prosperity
We pray for Your mighty hand
to ease our suffering
And all the while
You hear each spoken need
Yet love is way too much to give us lesser things
Cuz what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know you’re near
What if trials of this life
Are Your mercies in disguise?
We pray for wisdom
Your voice to hear
We cry in anger when we cannot feel You near
We doubt Your goodness
We doubt Your love
As if every promise from Your Word is not enough
And all the while You hear each desperate plea
Lord, that we’d have faith to believe
Cuz what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know you’re near
What if trials of this life
Are Your mercies in disguise?
When friends betray us
When darkness seems to win
We know the pain reminds this heart
That this is not
This is not our home
Cuz what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know you’re near
What if trials of this life
Are Your mercies in disguise?
What if my greatest disappointments
Or the aching of this life
is the revealing of a greater thirst
This world can’t satisfy?
And what if trials of this life
The rain
The storms
The hardest nights
are your mercies in disguise
