Australian praise and worship group Planetshakers is returning to the Philippines for a praise and worship concert at the PhilSports Arena on March 12. Titled “A Night of Worship,” the Planetshakers 2011 praise and worship concert will be the pinnacle of the popular Australian Christian group’s second visit to the Philippines this 2011 as part of its mission to “empower a generation to win a generation.”
Popularly known for its anthemic, sing-along praise jams and its moving, heartfelt worship ballads, Australian praise and worship band Planetshakers was formed in 1997 for a conference of the same name, a central part of the Planetshakers Christian youth movement of Adelaide’s Paradise Community Church. Passionate about uniting together generations worldwide for the worship of God, Planetshakers’ heart is to see people encounter God, be transformed by his presence and empowered to make a difference in their world. 2003 Australian Idol winner Guy Sebastian, who scored an international breakout hit with Angels Brought Me Here, was a member of the Planetshakers praise and worship team for several years. In 2004, the Planetshakers album Open Up The Gates was nominated for Praise and Worship Album of the Year for the Dove Awards, the American Contemporary Christian community’s equivalent of the Grammy Awards.
