Thousand Foot Krutch’s E For Extinction is the fifth single – can you believe it? Six singles off a Christian CD?? – off the Canadian rock band’s brilliant Welcome to the Masquerade (Tooth and Nail) CD, following Bring Me to Life, Forward Motion, Fire It Up and Already Home. E For Extinction is blazing hot at rock radio: it’s the fastest growing airplay track at Christian Rock, and is one of the most added as well. Thousand Foot Krutch’s heavy alt-rock sound couldn’t be more in focus with this, and I’m surprised E For Extinction was considered as the fifth single, and not released earlier. Trevor McNevan couldn’t sound more confident in his subject matter than with this track, and I’m predicting a final five finish for E For Extinction, with a #1 peak not too out of the question (but difficult because of single fatigue; it is, after all, still the fifth single off the CD). If its trajectory continues at this pace, it should land in the Top 10 in about a month and a half, with a final peak sometime around the third or fourth week of October.
