Top Christian Songs (Billboard) – May 29 2010

MercyMe still reigns on the the ten top Christian songs in the United States, in terms of chart performance and radio airplay, as of May 29, 2010, according to Billboard.com, with All of Creation. The Generous Mr. Lovewell, from which the single is taken, plummets 20 notches from #3 to #23, losing the #1 slot atop the Billboard Christian Albums chart as Tenth Avenue North, Billboard’s top Christian artist of last year, debuts at the top with its new CD, The Light Meets the Dark. This album debuts at #15 on the Billboard 200, no small feat. (Philippine singer Charice, one-ups them, scoring the third-highest debut for the week at #8 with her self-titled debut. Just sayin’, since I’m Filipino. Yay Charice!) Tenth Avenue North also claims Greatest Gainer of the Week honors, as Healing Begins rises 14-10. There is little movement on the overall 25 songs for the Christian Songs chart, with songs just swapping one or two places. The highest debut for the week is Pocket Full of Rocks’ Come As You Are, new at #42. Other debuts on the chart are Chris August (Starry Night, #45), Manafest (Avalanche, #46), and Robert Pierre (You Hold Me Now, #49).
