5. The Lost Get Found (5) Britt Nicole
6. Give Me the Meltdown (3) Rob Thomas
7. When Love Takes Over (4) David Guetta feat Kelly Rowland
8. Falling For You (7) Colbie Caillat
9. No Surprise (9) Daughtry
10. Giving Myself (8) Jennifer Hudson
Freddy Rodriguez is #1 for a second week with No Other Name off the apparently spectacular Light in the Darkness. (I say apparently, because the reviews are off the hook but I don’t have a copy yet.) I’d make it available for streaming here, but my recent visitors’ list shows that someone figured out a way to hack into my music folder so he or she can download music directly from my folder. I don’t want to be a tool for piracy, especially for someone as talented as Freddy Rodriguez, so I won’t make my music available for streaming any longer until I figure out how to block these downloaders. I paid Php80 for my mp3, people, you should, too. (You can go to 7digital.com to legally purchase mp3s for 99 pence using PayPal; it ain’t Amazon’s US$0.99, but at least it’s legal.)
Meanwhile, Kelly Clarkson’s Already Gone is really making an impact on me. Strangely enough, I don’t think it sounds like Beyonce’s Halo, and I prefer Kelly’s song so much over Beyonce’s. Ryan Tedder is a genius! If Already Gone goes to #1, it will be his second #1 hit in less than two months, given Jordin Sparks’ former #1 Battlefield was also co-written and produced by him. (Battlefield‘s airplay dipped this week, thanks to more spins for Jordin’s new single, the anthemic dance chestnut S.O.S.)
This week, thanks to my discovery of 7Digital (thanks, in turn, to Blogie, who recommended the site), I’m going to go sniffing for some old-school R&B, dance, or Christian gems to see if I can get those.
