Top 5 Reasons Why Taste Asia @ SM Hypermart Rocked

Last July 3, I joined over 100 bloggers at Taste Asia: Bloggers Food Fest, at the SM Hypermarket at the Mall of Asia for an evening of fun and entertainment. It was, beyond the shadow of a doubt, the most fun I’ve had at a blog event (what should one expect from the best Philippines supermarket ever?) My sincerest thanks to Jomar, who got me in.

My sincerest thanks as well to the sponsors – Fruitas (best mango shake ever!), Hen Lin (I love your mini cuapao!), Pick-A Pocket Shawarma & Kabbabs (the barbecue was delightful!), Paotsin (I’ve supported you since my DLS-CSB days), Lots’ a Pizza (every Saturday at the Moonwalk branch!), Gloria’s House of Special Goto, Fresh Cuts, Alvineths Party Needs, Sanyo and Zenshin Systems Corporation. (I left one sponsor out for reasons you’ll find out later, hehehe.)

The Top 5 Reasons Why Taste Asia rocked, right after the jump.
5. I renewed my ties with the Pinoy bloggerati. Made new acquaintances, the bloggers behind PinoyBlogero, Byahilo, and a bunch of others whose blogs I will link to once I review the calling cards. Hahaha. I also spent some great time with Aldrin and Leah. Was starstruck again, thanks to meeting SexyMom (I actually called her Tita Dine; feeling close!), fellow Philippine Idol fan and best Mom ever Tita Noemi, Teacher Julie (she’s so down-to-earth!), Yuga (who didn’t recognize me, I think, so what, I got a picture!) and Dr. Tess, who had the most amazing hair. Saw old blogger acquaintances Shari, Jun, and Riz. Turns out Rick was there, but I didn’t see him and he claims to have seen me but didn’t talk to me because I was talking to pretty girls. Hello, it’s just Anna, pretty girl ba yun?

4. I got to talk to three ladies from SM Hypermarket. Arlyn, Celie, and Diane listened to me talk on and on about the virtues of SM Hypermarket because we’ve been Hypermarket people ever since the old days! When we lived in Paranaque, we shopped at SM Hypermarket Sucat. Then SM Hypermarket Bicutan. When we transferred to Monumento, we started going to SM Hypermarket North EDSA. Malinao na lang, natour na namin lahat! These three ladies patiently listened to me complain about why Nice toilet paper is no longer available on their shelves. Yan ang customer service!

3. I won a Secosana bag from SM Hypermarket! And it promptly went to Cathy as a ‘thank you’ for letting me go.

2. CliqueBooth! This party booth by Mimi and Karl was one of the most swamped attractions at the party. I went for a shot, becoming the MH (malaking hadlang) between lovebirds Anna and Raymond.

And the number one reason why Taste Asia@SM Hypermarket rocked my socks:

1. Two words: Crazy Choco. Cream puffs dipped in a milk chocolate fountain. UNBELIEVABLE. I had ten that night. I plan to book Crazy Choco at my house, with the two attendants, and the free fruit and cream puffs, and just eat it there. By myself. BAKIT WALA KAYONG WEBSITE?! I’ll promote you through the roof!

Crazy Choco! Call 0917-8818023 (Ritchie) or 0922-832-1019 (Lynn). PHP7,500 gets you five hours of chocolate, two kilograms of 100% pure Belgian chocolate, and a great selection of two fruit and three non-fruit dippings. Get the cream puffs! (You can also try the marshmallow, butter crunch, or butter squares. (Forget the diet. And tell them GannsDeen.com referred you, maybe they’ll give me a free run.)

Thank you, SM Hypermarket! Photos here.
