Billboard Hot Christian Songs (January 10, 2015)

carrie-underwood-something-in-the-water-artworkChristian and Country superstar Carrie Underwood scores a thirteenth week at number one on Billboard’s Christian Songs chart with Something in the Water, the carrier single off her double-disc release, Greatest Hits: Decade #1. Last week’s song at number two, The Voice winner Craig Wayne Boyd The Old Rugged Cross, tumbles out of the Top 10, clearing the way for Hillsong United’s Oceans to return to number two. Colton Dixon’s More of You returns to the Top 10, scoring a new peak at number 9, and Crowder’s Come as You Are squeaks into the tenth position, even as Plumb’s Lord, I’m Ready Now drops a notch to number 11.

Fast risers up the chart include Capital Kings’ Fireblazin’, up 45-34; Hillsong Worship’s Broken Vessels (Amazing Grace), up 46-36; and Lecrae’s Nuthin’, up 35-25 this week. Christmas songs take the biggest hit, naturally, as Contemporary Christian radio stations stop playing the format, and Kim Walker-Smith’s Carol of the Bells (25 to 43), Mark Schultz’s Different Kind of Christmas (9 to 26), and Matthew West’s A Christmas to Believe In (23-39) are the biggest victims.
