Building 429, “We Won’t Be Shaken”

Building 429, “We Won’t Be Shaken”

Contemporary Christian super-pop/rock group Building 429 has released We Won’t Be Shaken as the carrier single of its upcoming album of the same title, out in digital and CD formats across the world on June 4, 2013.

I am loving Building 429′s We Won’t Be Shaken! From the hand-claps to the irresistible sing-along chorus, there is much to love about We Won’t Be Shaken. Jason Roy sounds in fine form, and the rest of the band I clearly hope had a blast. I can totally hear this song being sung in churches across the United States, and even to the world. (You can bet I’ll submit it to the worship team at church.)

With We Won’t Be Shaken, the 2005 Dove Award winners for New Artist of the Year has released its most radio-friendly carrier single to date. I do hear shades of Needtobreathe and City Harmonic in We Won’t Be Shaken, but if anything, it’s an indicator that Building 429′s sound continues to rapidly evolve into a radio-friendly sound that will soon enough speak into the long-term viability of the band’s career. Overall, We Won’t Be Shaken is a terrific carrier single of what I hope will be another great release in Building 429′s ever-evolving, ever-dynamic, enviable discography.

WE WON’T BE SHAKEN Lyrics
Building 429

This world has nothing for me
This life is not my own
I know You go before me
And I am not alone

This mountain rises higher
This way seems so unclear
But I know that You go with me
I will trust in You

Whatever will come my way
Through fire or pouring rain
No, we won’t be shaken
No we won’t be shaken
Whatever tomorrow brings
Together we’ll rise and sing
That we won’t be shaken
No we won’t be shaken

Oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh
No, we won’t be shaken

You know my every longing
You’ve heard my every prayer
You’ve held me in my weakness
Cause You are always there

So I’ll stand in full surrender
It’s Your way and not my own
My mind is set on nothing less
Than You and You alone

I will not be moved, oh

Whatever will come my way
Through fire or pouring rain
No, we won’t be shaken
No we won’t be shaken
Whatever tomorrow brings
Together we’ll rise and sing
That we won’t be shaken
We won’t be shaken

We will trust in You
We will not be moved
We will trust in You
And we won’t be shaken

We will trust in You
We will not be moved
We will trust in You
Yeah, we won’t be shaken

We will trust in You
We will not be moved
We will trust in You
And we won’t be shaken
No, we won’t be shaken

Whatever will come my way
Through fire or pouring rain
We won’t be shaken
No we won’t be shaken
Whatever tomorrow brings
Together we’ll rise and sing
That we won’t be shaken
We won’t be shaken
We won’t be shaken
