Contemporary Christian singer and songwriter Brandon Heath has released the first single off his erstwhile untitled third studio CD, out January 11, 2011. Titled Your Love, the song is another product of the collaboration between Brandon and songwriting partner Jason Ingram, and is, according to his official website, “testament to God’s abounding love that never leaves us, gives us purpose, and lights our way. The lyrics of Your Love celebrate both God’s heart and the pure immensity of His love for us.”
Brandon Heath is one of my favorite Contemporary Christian songwriters. I was extremely blessed to have scored an interview with him when he debuted back in 2006; four years later, he’s one of Christian music’s most popular artists, and rightly so, because his love and passion for God exudes in his music. I wasn’t so sold with Give Me Your Eyes, but I have to tell you that Your Love is his best carrier single of all three albums thus far. (I like it as a carrier even more than Our God Reigns, which is still one of my favorite Heath songs to date.) Your Love is readily singable, easily accessible, and patently vertical in its praise of God. I love it, I love it, I love it. (Yes, even that auto-tune at the end of the song? I love it!)
