Audrey Assad’s “For the Love of You”

Contemporary Christian singer/songwriter Audrey Assad’s new single, For the Love of You, debuted strongly on Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs chart last week, entering at #28. While Assad’s voice is unarguably beautiful, with her voice reminiscent of Meredith Andrews, Britt Nicole, and Nichole Nordeman, For the Love of You‘s moving melody and heartfelt lyrics is what will help the song stand out amongst the current crop on Christian pop radio. Also setting her apart is that Assad is Catholic in an industry where the majority are Evangelical Christian/Protestant in their faiths; the openness of Christian pop radio programmers in the USA to Assad’s music, is refreshing. (Yes, there is a bit of a double-standard in Christian radio.)

At the end of the day, Assad’s For the Love of You is gorgeous, and, if Christian radio programmers continue to be this progressive, I predict a Top 15 finish for For the Love of You.

It’s been 17 posts past. But still no “personals”. I feel like reading JINGLES HOT mag of the 80s (Korean Pop/CCM edition). Miss the funk and misadventures. When are you coming back? Jujuju!!! LOL!!!

Sorry, Iago, there are few personal stories to share. I’m trying to make GannsDeen.com a reliable Contemporary Christian music resource, which explains the emphasis on music. I don’t think that many people are interested in my “misadventures.” Nevertheless, I’ll try to post one once in a while. Thanks for your support.
