A few months ago, Contemporary Christian band Unspoken released The Cure off their latest album, Follow Through. The song hasn’t quite set radio on fire the way its previous singles have, which is a shame, because this song is every bit as good as its previous singles, especially the delightful Higher. I’m led to believe that Christian AC programmers are really averse to songs with horn sections, which is a darn shame! LOL
Seriously, when I first heard The Cure, which discusses why Jesus is pretty much the answer to our questions and what we’re looking for in this life, I thought it was a track by Switchfoot. Not that The Cure is the kind of song we can or should expect from the legendary Jon Foreman-led Christian rock group. I think it’s more indicative of the kind of growth and sonic landscape we can expect from one of Christian music’s more talented new groups, and methinks that’s saying a lot.
