Hillsong Young and Free has released Real Love off their sophomore release, Youth Revival. It’s a thought-provoking, challenging praise party anthem written by Alexander Pappas, Hannah Hobbs, and Michael Fatkin that takes inspiration from Philippians 3:8-9. It allows the worshiper to lift up a shout of praise in a way that doesn’t come across as “too Christian.” That’s one of the hallmarks of the sound of Young and Free that endeared them to a millennial culture that wanted their pre-believer friends to listen to their music without it being too “Don Moen,” I suppose. It’s a great single.
