One more week and Hillsong United’s Oceans will score a 40th week at number one. To put that into perspective, this one hit ranks United fifth among Christian artists with the most cumulative weeks at number one, breaking the tie with Third Day two weeks ago at 37. If Oceans holds onto number one for a month more – a possibility that is very, very likely – they will tie Chris Tomlin for fourth with 43.
It really feels to me that United is geared to rewriting the record books, and I couldn’t be happier for them. At this point, I’m really excited to see how far Oceans will really go.
