Mandisa’s Overcomer has now topped Billboard’s Christian Songs chart for seven straight weeks. Not only is it her biggest hit ever, it’s the longest-running number single by a female artist since Laura Story’s Blessings in 2011. If it spends one more week at number one, it will tie Joy Williams’ Hide (2005) as the longest-running number one single by a female artist in the ten-year history of the Christian Songs chart. The strongest possible spoiler for Overcomer is Big Daddy Weave’s The Only Name (Yours Will Be, which skips up 5-3 this week, and is, in my opinion, a very possible number one contender. (I just hope it won’t challenge for the next two weeks, so Mandisa can earn her rightful place in Contemporary Christian history. lol)
