Korean girl group Brown Eyed Girls has staged a fierce comeback with Kill Bill. Just like with virtually every single MV they’ve released, the video of Kill Bill is thoughtfully scripted and skillfully executed, paying homage to Quentin Tarantino’s tour de force starring Uma Thurman. With each Brown Eyed Girls member getting their own character name and a vendetta to kill all the other girls, it’s a virtual bloodbath that makes me wonder if the song will be banned on South Korea’s rather conservative television stations.
Nevertheless, I love the song, I love the video, this is clearly another triumph in Brown Eyed Girls’ ever expanding, ever-challenging, ever impressive discography. With every release, the girls show musical and visual growth unrivaled by pretty much any other Korean girl group out there. Well-done, BEG.
