Billboard Top Christian Songs – August 3, 2013

Matthew West has scored a tenth week now atop the Billboard Christian Songs charts with Matthew West’s Hello My Name Is. Ten weeks, boys and girls. Building 429’s We Won’t Be Shaken moves up 5-3, while Sidewalk Prophets regains its previous peak at number two. (Methinks this should be very interesting; any one of those three songs could be number one next week.

Meanwhile, Mandisa’s Overcomer rockets into the Top 10, 15-8, to become Mandisa’s latest Top 10 hit, and continues her streak of Top 10 hits with every album’s carrier single. True Beauty had Only the World; Freedom had My Deliverer; and Mandisa’s most recent release, What If We Were Real, scored the former American Idol finalist her first solo number one hit on Billboard’s Christian Songs chart. Will Overcomer be her second? My heart says Yep!

Mandisa isn’t the only new entry to the Top 10. Jeremy Camp’s My God finally enters the Top 10, 14-9, on the strength of Christian AC airplay. Fantastic song, and the follow-up to the Top 10 hit, Overcome.
