I confess I didn’t pick up immediately on Contemporary Christian singer/songwriter Matt Maher’s Lord I Need You, primarily because it wasn’t a particularly new song. Lord I Need You has had a video up on YouTube since April 2012 – frequent collaborator Audrey Assad features prominently on the song – and I wasn’t expecting the track to be released as a single. So I was quite surprised when Lord I Need You began to pick up steam, and is now a bonafide hit with a current ranking on Billboard’s Christian Songs. Glad I was proven wrong this time, because Lord I Need You is indeed a powerful song. The carrier single off Maher’s upcoming release, All The People Said Amen, Lord I Need You is a desperate plea for God’s presence in our lives and would be a fine addition to worship rosters in churches worldwide.
