Billboard Top Christian Songs – July 7, 2012

Contemporary Christian superband MercyMe makes it three weeks in a row at #1 with The Hurt and the Healer, although it loses its bullet. Matt Redman’s 10000 Reasons jumps 8 to 5; it’s his biggest hit on the Christian chart in years. Meanwhile, White Flag by Passion/Chris Tomlin falls out of the Top 10 – it’s Tomlin’s first non-Top 5 hit since God of This City failed to make the Top 10 in 2009, not counting the World Edition of How Great is Our God from Tomlin’s Greatest Hits set. New to the Top 10, taking Tomlin’s place, is Me Without You, the comeback single of Christian superstar tobyMac. (We all saw that coming.)

Good debuts this week, led by Kari Jobe Steady My Heart, which enters at a rather high #26. (I hope I may be proven wrong; my prediction was that it wouldn’t do better than its Top 10 predecessor We Are). Also new to the chart are Need You Now (How Many Times), the comeback single of Tiffany Arbuckle Lee, better known as Plumb, new at #41; then new at #46 is Adam Cappa All I Really Want, and finally Je’Kob at #49 with Love is All (pictured).
