Billboard Top Christian Songs – June 23, 2012

After 15 weeks at #1, Building 429’s Where I Belong loses its grip at #1 and tumbles to #4 on Billboard’s Christian Songs chart. Who ends up replacing Building 429 atop the chart? Well, it takes a chart leader to unseat a chart leader, and Contemporary Christian superband MercyMe earns its 11th #1 hit on the countdown with The Hurt and the Healer, making it the artist with the most #1 hits on Billboard’s Christian Songs chart, with 11; second-place is Casting Crowns, and third-place is Jeremy Camp with six.

Camp is going to try to shorten that gap, as Overcome, Camp’s current single, which spent several weeks at #2 before falling to #5, reverses direction and jumps up, 5 to 2. Like last week, no new entries to the Top 10 this week.

Hotshot debut honors go to Matthew West’s Forgiveness; the track also earns Greatest Gainer status. Also new to the chart is Unspoken’s Who You Are at #39.
