Destiny’s Child’s Michelle Williams will be releasing a new gospel album in the fall of 2012.
The R&B songstress, who released two gospel albums – Heart to Yours (2002) and Do You Know (2004) – has signed a new record deal with Light Records, with distribution to be conducted by eOne. James Robinson, Light Records president, says in a press release, “It’s an honor to work with an icon like Michelle Williams and her team. As a fan of her other two inspirational projects, I was drawn to Michelle’s comfort, confidence and genuineness. With her pure heart for God and people, our goal is to continue her brand of love, faith and encouragement through song.”
Producers lined up to work with Ms Williams include previous collaborator Tommy Sims (Amy Grant, Bruce Springsteen, Garth Brooks, BlackStreet, Toni Braxton, Kelly Clarkson, Newsboys, Natalie Grant, Israel and New Breed), and James Fortune (John P. Kee, Kim Burrell, Stevie Wonder, Mary Mary, Donald Lawrence, Fred Hammond, Tye Tribbett). The album is scheduled for release in January 2013.
