My Sexy Revolution Starts Now

Guess which one I am. Hint: I'm not in a dress.

The Bible says our bodies are the temple of God. Ladies and gentlemen, meet the Megamall of God.

Make a wild guess which one I am. Hint: I'm the one without a bowling ball.

Anyonghaseyo! I am Ganns Deen, but on YouTube, I am known as the Future Thin Guy, a 35-year-old man weighing approximate 235 pounds. It’s a great name: future pa rin kasi ang thin; present pa rin ang fat.

I’ve been fat all my life. The one time I was close to my ideal weight was in 1995, when I went on a crash diet after a break-up with a girlfriend.

College years. I'm the one on the right. Please ignore the 90s hair; that alone added 20lbs.

Those were such amazing years! I even gained enough confidence to join a vocal group.

Release sings “Mahal Na Mahal Kita.” I’m the first chorus soloist, the fellow with the glasses (at 1:42). lol

I fell in love with a wonderful woman.

There used to be a time when my girlfriend (now wife) could carry me!

But I never got over my issues. After reaching 145lbs, I gained it all back. By 2008, I was 225lbs. Desperate, I called myself FutureThinGuy and started a blog in September 2008 to force myself to work out.

T'aint easy!

I had no muscle mass, nothing at all to boast of.

Gaaaaah! Spotter! SPOTTER! SPOTTEEEEER!!!

Using Bob Greene’s Body For Life. I even created a YouTube channel to increase my accountability.

Episode 2: Run Against Pain

Episode 3: Sugar Rush

I lost a total of 30lbs, and actually got to 199lbs from 230lbs, using a combination of healthy eating and running. Then I injured my foot. And it all went to hell.

Ooooh! Pizzaaaah!

Sige, kain lang ng kain!

Singing in church became even more embarrassing. Kakahiya, yellow raincoat, diba?

With beauty queens Joyce Titular and Miriam Quiambao.

I recently guested at “The Youth Summit 2012” with beauty queens Joyce Titular and Miriam Quiambao, I never felt so short and fat in my life.

Exhausted by just breathing.

I NEED HELP. And I believe Sexy Solutions can help me.

  1. I am tired of yoyo dieting. Sexy Solutions can help me finally with proper nutrition. Up. Down. Up. Down. Up. Down. Ano ako, elevator? I’m praying for a nutrition program that works, developed by experts who know what they’re doing.
  2. I want to look forward to exercise again. Sexy Solutions can help me mix it up.  Cardio programs. Weight training programs. Rotation programs. Mas marami pang programa kaysa goberyno, pweh. Litong-lito na ako. I’m excited about the possibility of meeting Edward Mendez and finally having a program that is would excite someone like me.
  3. Sige, aaminin ko na. Lipo kung lipo! I’m willing to do the work, yes! But even at my skinniest, I still had disproportionate thunderthighs and an ass that wouldn’t quit. Pwede bang body type na carrot o celery imbes na mansanas o peras?

I want to be healthy! For the long haul. Healthy weight loss, sustainable over time. I will revive my blog, the YouTube channel, document the whole darn thing, y’all are my accountability partners. I want to do it for so many people.

I want to do it for Caths. This year is our 10th year wedding anniversary. It would be the perfect time to start the rest of our lives with a new perspective on health, life, and love.

I want to do it for my kids. This is my eight-year-old Nathan & my five-year-old Nicki. I want to be with them for a very long time. More than vanity, being healthy means more quality time with them for a greater, longer period of time.

I want to do it for my church. A healthier me means I can serve more effectively. A healthy body and lifestyle glorifies God, period.

I want to do it for my career. Any industry isn't kind to fat people. Being healthier translates into more opportunities that allow me to entertain more people. (With worship leaders from Citipointe Live, in an interview for a radio show I host.)

But, ultimately, I want to do this for me.

I want to prove to myself that, given the tools, the information, the motivation, and the accountability, I can have the will power to open the door to a healthier, wealthier me.

I want to show that middle-aged men can still go from flab to fab.

I want the tattoo on my stomach to look like the sleek tiger it was, not like Garfield.

And I would like to be given the opportunity to try.

It’s all right to crawl before you walk
It’s all right to walk before you run
But if you wanna get what you never got gotta do something that you never done
.
