Contemporary Christian superstar TobyMac has released Changed Forever, featuring a powerful turn from vocalist Nirva Ready. A strong testimonial of how God can change lives for the better, Changed Forever features driving electric guitars, some pretty interesting synth work, and of course, the rock-oriented rap that TobyMac creates so well, especially during his turn with dcTalk. When you hear “Then I saw Your face, and I was changed forever,” you realize Ready is singing, no, more like blowing hot like a furnace; there’s also an urgency in TobyMac’s rap, absolutely moving! Given that Changed Forever is the fourth single off Tonight, you realize the full depth of TobyMac’s albums. And this isn’t even the best track off the CD! Changed Forever is now picking up at Christian AC, and I’m sure it’ll do well (after the hiccup that was Hold On, but considering he was still in the Top 10, thanks to his collab with Jamie Grace with the similarly titled Hold Me, no big deal). I predict an easy Top 10 finish, and given that it’s TobyMac, it’s a good thing that we’ll be introduced to the singing brilliance of Nirva Ready.
