Brothers Joel and Luke Smallbone, better known as new Contemporary Christian act For King and Country, have released their debut single, Busted Heart (Hold On To Me), which is busting out – see what I did there? LOL – in a big way, rising fast up the charts and earning Greatest Gainer honors last week. The Smallbones are brothers to Contemporary Christian legend Rebecca St. James, and you can sense the quality of the family’s musical talent in Busted Heart (Hold On To Me), which absolutely overflows with passion and sincerity. The memorable melody is second only to two sweet harmonies (which can only be family-born; I’ve heard that kind of delightful harmony before with Wilson Phillips and Mulberry Lane, two other family-oriented acts), and this song about humbling ourselves before God, and about God’s faithfulness to us in our moments of weakness, can only bode for better things for this Australian duo.
