A few years ago, Contemporary Christian band Rush of Fools scored a #1 hit with Undo, which was one of the most brilliant worship tracks I’d heard in a while. Undo was exquisite, and I imagine that Rush of Fools would have had a difficult time following it up. Well, the band’s new single, Grace Found Me, lifted off the new CD We Once Were, debuted at #29 last week on Billboard’s Christian Songs chart, so it looks like they may be on their way, IMHO. Previous fancams of live Grace Found Me performances on YouTube showed an acoustic, slower, more lovingly sung track, but the studio version seems to have been sped up a bit, and given a bit of a kick. This has galvanized fans into pro-slow and pro-fast groups, based on the comments on the video that I’ve embedded. If you ask me, I like the faster version; I just feel there’s more potential for a passionate sing-along, and I like Rush of Fools because they come up with great singalong songs. What do you think? Grace Found Me: slow or fast?

GRACE FOUND ME Lyrics
Rush of Fools
I never thought that I would amount to anything at all
I get the things have changed
Yet I still feel the same
But I’m not alone
‘Cause Your grace found me
I thought I wasn’t breathing
My heart now sings
‘Cause You chased for me
I never saw it coming
My eyes now see
Your Grace found me
If You had given me up
I would have nothing left at all
Nothing to give of myself
No one to take my place
But You came along
‘Cause Your grace found me
I thought I wasn’t breathing
My heart now sings
‘Cause You chased for me
I never saw it coming
My eyes now see
Your Grace found me
I’m covered over
I’m so wrapped up
It’s all Your love
It’s all Your love
Your Grace found me
When I wasn’t breathing
Grace found me
Your Grace found me
I thought I wasn’t breathing
My heart now sings
‘Cause You chased for me
I never saw You coming
My eyes now see
Your Grace found me
Your Grace found me
Your Grace found me
Your Grace found me
