Contemporary Christian singer-songwriter Aaron Shust is back with a new single, My Hope is In You, which precedes his new CD, This is What We Believe, which drops across the United States August 23 on Centricity Music. (I love these guys. Ever since discovering them via the phenomenal Jaime Jamgochian, Centricity just brings us some amazing worshipers.)
Shust may be best known for his #1 single, My Savior My God, which hit #1 back in 2007, and was a phenomenal hit, winning the Dove Award that year for Song of the Year. Four years later, My Hope is In You is now one of the most added songs at radio this week. It features a pretty piano line at the start and his trademark rough vocal over sensitive, worshipful lyrics. What I’ve always liked about Shust’s material is that he doesn’t hesitate to elevate God to the status He deserves, singing of God’s lordship, faithfulness, and attributes in everything he releases. While My Hope is In You doesn’t quite reach straightforward vertical worship – very few vertical worship songs perform that well on Christian radio – I don’t doubt for one second that God is pleased with this declaration of trust in Him. As I am! Give My Hope is In You a listen, buy it on iTunes or on his official website, and enjoy the latest offering from this increasingly relevant Christian singer-songwriter.
MY HOPE IS IN YOU Lyrics
Aaron Shust
I meet with You and my soul sings out
As your word throws doubt far away
I sing to You and my heart cries
“Holy!
Hallelujah
Father, You’re near!”
My hope is in You, Lord
All the day long
I won’t be shaken by drought or storm
A peace that passes understanding is my song
And I sing
My hope is in You, Lord
I wait for You and my soul finds rest
In my selfishness, You show me grace
I worship You and my heart cries “Glory
Hallelujah
Father You’re here!”
My hope is in You, Lord
All the day long
I won’t be shaken by drought or storm
A peace that passes understanding is my song
And I sing
My hope is in You, Lord
I will wait on You
You are my refuge
I will wait on You
You are my refuge
My hope is in You, Lord
All the day long
I won’t be shaken by drought or storm
My hope is in You, Lord
All the day long
I won’t be shaken by drought or storm
A peace that passes understanding is my song
And I sing
My hope is in You, Lord
My hope is in You, Lord
Yeah
My hope is in You, Lord
