Contemporary Christian singer Ryan Stevenson is set to drop his debut EP, Yesterday Today Forever on BEC Recordings, with We Got the Light, a chillaxing mid-tempo track that reminds me a bit of the work of fellow Christian singer Shonlock, as the carrier single. According to Stevenson’s label, Ryan Stevenson “blends influences from soul, pop, and some of the great guitarists to create engaging acoustic guitar driven melodies.” A former acoustic partner of fellow Christian artist Paul Wright, Stevenson creates songs that focus on the difficulties faced by everyone in general, adding a vulnerability beyond his years and an encouraging spirit that will uplift many. We Got the Light is now picking up at Christian AC and I think Mr. Stevenson may very well soon have a hit on his hands.
