Contemporary Christian superstar pop-rock band MercyMe’s Move is one of my favorites from their The Generous Mr. Lovewell release of last year. After the success of Beautiful, I think Move is one of their most strategic releases; follow up a slow #1 with an unexpected toe-tapper of a track. It helps that Move is really one of their finest fast tracks ever. It’s actually my second favorite upbeat MercyMe track of all time, right behind So Long Self. Move is a song about kicking trusting in God and kicking self-pity in the butt. I love it. If you haven’t picked up The Generous Mr. Lovewell yet, it comes highly recommended, with Move a strong reason why you should get yourselves a copy.
I predict an easy Top 10 finish for Move if MercyMe releases this track full-blast, with a potential #1 finish because 1) it’s MercyMe, and 2) Move is awesome.
