After three weeks at #1, tobyMAC slips to #2 with Get Back Up. Who succeeds him at #1? Naturally, Chris Tomlin! One God, the first radio single off Passion: Awakening, Tomlin’s concert tour with Louie Giglio et al, ascends to #1 in its 17th week, a relatively slow ascent by Tomlin standards. The rest of the chart remains virtually unchanged, with songs switching places here and there. Amy Grant falls out of the Top 10 with Better Than a Hallelujah; replacing her in the Top 10 is the Michael Tait-led Newsboys, with Born Again.
Four big names enter the Christian Songs chart this week. The highest debut belongs to Casting Crowns, as To Know You enters at #35. (This is odd; I’d better find out why this is so, because If We’ve Ever Needed You is still climbing up the chart.) Five notches below the band is Jeremy Camp Jesus Saves, blasting in at #40. (Told ya so.) Christian rock group Fireflight debuts at #44 with For Those Who Wait; mikeschair enters just a notch below them with the Lecrae-featuring Keep on Changing the World. The Greatest Gainer this week? The Afters’ Light Up the Sky.
