Ganns’ Top 10 – May 15 2010

As of May 15, 2010, these are my ten favorite songs. As predicted, Super Junior’s new single, Bonamana, has been released to the public, and what a single it is! The boys of Super Junior have a bona fide hit in their hands, and international buzz – at least on Twitter – shows that Super Junior has nothing to worry about for the next few weeks. The album has sold over 200,000 copies in the first week, unprecedented numbers as far as K-Pop is concerned, and it looks like I’ve been bitten by the bug as well.

The debut of Bonamana at #1 kinda steals the thunder away from Ashmont Hill’s Show My Love, which drops to #2. In any other given week, Show My Love‘s spins would’ve been more than adequate to stay at #1, but, well, the Boston vocal group had to go up against Super Junior, oh well. Another artist whose thunder is also stolen by the numbers of Bonamana is Filipino singer Charice, whose American debut CD, Charice (143/Reprise), dropped May 11 in the United States. The carrier single, Pyramid, which features singer/rapper Iyaz, debuts at #3 on my chart this week. Iyaz was also recently in the chart for his own single, Solo, which sampled Again by Janet, who is also in the chart this week, holding steady at #4 with Nothing off the OST of Why Did I Get Married Too. I love the serendipity, don’t you?

I’m trying out a new format for the chart. What do you think?
