Contemporary Christian supergroup Tenth Avenue North has released Worn as the second single off The Struggle. A strong follow-up to the number two single, Losing, Worn is an encouraging song of worship and reliance on God for the moments we feel faint. (Yeah, Relient K, I said it.) Somehow, in my gut, after having heard the song and listening to Mike Donnehey’s testimony about the song, I think Worn may exceed the number two finish of its predecessor. It’s strong, it’s powerful, and it will speak to countless lives. What do you think? Do you agree with me?
WORN Lyrics
Tenth Avenue North
I’m tired
I’m worn
My heart is heavy
From the work it takes
To keep on breathing
I’ve made mistakes
I’ve let my hope fail
My soul feels crushed
By the weight of this world
And I know that you can give me rest
So I cry out with all that I have left
Let me see redemption win
Let me know the struggle ends
That you can mend a heart
That’s frail and torn
I wanna know a song can rise
From the ashes of a broken life
And all that’s dead inside can be reborn
Cause I’m worn
I know I need to lift my eyes up
But I’m too weak
Life just won’t let up
And I know that you can give me rest
So I cry out with all that I have left
Let me see redemption win
Let me know the struggle ends
That you can mend a heart
That’s frail and torn
I wanna know a song can rise
From the ashes of a broken life
And all that’s dead inside can be reborn
Cause I’m worn
My prayers are wearing thin
Yeah, I’m worn
Even before the day begins
Yeah, I’m worn
I’ve lost my will to fight
I’m worn
So, heaven come and flood my eyes
Let me see redemption win
Let me know the struggle ends
That you can mend a heart
That’s frail and torn
I wanna know a song can rise
From the ashes of a broken life
And all that’s dead inside can be reborn
Cause all that’s dead inside will be reborn
After seven weeks atop Billboard’s Christian Songs chart, Redeemed by Big Daddy Weave slips to number three, as another former number one – Kristian Stanfill’s One Thing Remains – hopscotches over Third Day’s I Need A Miracle to score a third week at number one. Chris Tomlin’s Whom Shall I Fear (God of Angel Armies) continues its steady path to number one, moving up six to four this week, and Audio Adrenaline makes its first Top 10 under new vocalist Kevin Max with its comeback single, Kings and Queens, inching 11-10 this week. With Kevin Max at number 10 and Michael Tait at number 9 with the Newsboys’ Your Love Never Fails, we are waiting for tobyMac’s Steal My Show to make it to the Top 10 to complete a dcTalk Top 10 reunion! COME ON!!
Contemporary Christian singer/songwriter Josh Wilson, who scored a number one hit with Jesus is Alive and a Top 3 hit with I Refuse, among other hits, has released the uptempo track, Carry Me as the carrier single of his upcoming album, out April 9th in digital and compact disc formats across the United States and the rest of the world. The track releases on February 19th on iTunes.
Carry Me has a bright future ahead of it. Already the song is one of the most-added tracks this week on Christian AC and Christian CHR; it seems to be destined to fight for the top against Hawk Nelson’s Words. Written by Wilson in light of several panic attacks that the singer had in months leading to the release of the single, it’s an encouraging prayer of how God can carry us through the most difficult of times. Brilliant single.
CARRY ME Lyrics
Josh Wilson
I try to catch my breath
It hasn’t happened yet
I’m wide awake in the middle of the night scared to death
So I prayed, “God, would You make this stop
Father please hold on to me
You’re all I’ve got!”
Carry me, carry me, carry me now
From my sinking sand to Your solid ground
The only way I’m ever gonna make it out
Is if You carry me, carry me, carry me now
God carry me, carry me, carry me now
Jesus calm my heart
Come near me, please
Lord don’t let these worries get the best of me
Oh I believe, that You’re still here with me
Cause You meant what You said when You said You’d never leave
Carry me, carry me, carry me now
From my sinking sand to Your solid ground
The only way I’m ever gonna make it out
Is if You carry me, carry me, carry me now
God carry me, carry me, carry me now
Carry me
God carry me
Carry me
God carry me
I’m at the end of myself
I know I’ve got nothing left
Feels like I’m stuck in the valley of the shadow of death
And I’ve been down here so long
I just can’t find my way out
Oh God I don’t stand a chance
Unless You carry me now
God carry me now
Carry me, carry me, carry me now
From my sinking sand to Your solid ground
The only way I’m ever gonna make it out
Is if You carry me, carry me, carry me now
God carry me, carry me, carry me now
Carry me now
Carry me now
Carry me now
Carry me now
Recently, two young Norwegians recently posted a picture on Facebook, in which Peter, the guy, held up a sign that said, “Cathrine says that if I can get 1M “Likes,” she will have sex with me. Please share and like.”
Less than two days later, the photo has received 1.3million likes.
I think it’s safe to say that Peter thinks his peter is in for a treat. But is it really? After all, why shouldn’t two people in the throes of youthful passion stop themselves from enjoying each other’s, um, company?
I’m no sexpert – actually I think I kinda am, but whatever – but if I were in a commitment with someone else, well, Christian or not, I wouldn’t want to share her without anyone else. Even if faith played no role here, looking from a strictly secular point of view, I’m not sure I could deal with the implications of a purely sexual relationship with someone.
But that’s just me. Some people can do it easily with any Tom, Dick, or Harry, but I’d have difficulty doing so. Is sex nowadays with someone who isn’t your spouse… that easy?
“So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.” 2 Timothy 2:2
“Let your fountain be blessed, and rejoice in the wife of your youth, a lovely deer, a graceful doe. Let her breasts fill you at all times with delight; be intoxicated always in her love.” Proverbs 5:18-19
With Redeemed staying at number one this week, Big Daddy Weave earns a third straight week and a seventh week in total. The three songs that follow – Third Day’s I Need A Miracle at number two, Kristian Stanfill’s One Thing Remains at number three, and Matt Redman’s 10000 Reasons at number four – are all former number one hits as well. Poor Matthew West. LOL Forgiveness peaked at number two, blocked from the top spot by the juggernaut that was Redman’s fourteen week run at number one.
Meanwhile, Josh Wilson’s brand-new single, Carry Me, earns Greatest Gainer honors at it jumps 36-25 this week. Christian rock group Cloverton, on the other hand, earns Hotshot Debut ink with an unusual entry, the holiday-themed A Hallelujah Christmas.
Contemporary Christian rock band Hawk Nelson has released Words, the carrier single of the new release, Made, set to drop on April 2 in digital and CD formats. Words is receiving phenomenal reactions from the Christian AC community, despite the absence of former lead vocalist Jason Dunn, who left to pursue a solo career. Jonathan Steingard stepped up to the plate and knocked his new role as lead vox out of the ballpark. Together with bassist Daniel Biro and drummer Justin Benner, methinks Hawk Nelson’s new sound will win definitely the band even more fans.
Words offers Christian music lovers an extra treat: guest vocals from MercyMe frontman Bart Millard. Millard’s distinctive vocals add an even more majestic sound to the anthemic chorus of Words. Most added at Christian AC, most added at Christian CHR, one of the most added added at Christian Soft AC/Inspo… mark my words – see what I did there? – Words will be one of Hawk Nelson’s biggest hits ever.
WORDS Lyrics
Hawk Nelson
They’ve made me feel like a prisoner
They’ve made me feel set free
They’ve made me feel like a criminal
Made me feel like a king
They’ve lifted my heart
To places I’d never been
And they’ve dragged me down
Back to where I began
Words can build you up
Words can break you down
Start a fire in your heart or
Put it out
Let my words be life
Let my words be truth
I don’t wanna say a word
Unless it points the world back to You
You can heal the heartache
Speak over the fear
(Speak over the fear)
God, Your voice is the only thing
We need to hear
(We need to hear)
Words can build us up
Words can break us down
Start a fire in our hearts or
Put it out
Let my words be life
Let my words be truth
I don’t wanna say a word
Unless it points the world back to You
(Back to You)
Let the words I say
(Let the words I say)
Be the sound of Your grace
(Sound like Your grace)
I don’t wanna say a word
Unless it points the world back to You
I wanna speak Your love
Not just another noise
Oh, I wanna be Your light
I wanna be Your voice
Let my words be life
Let my words be truth
I don’t wanna say a word
Unless it points the world back to You
(Back to You)
Let the words I say
(Let the words I say)
Be the sound of Your grace
(Sound like Your grace)
I don’t wanna say a word
Unless it points the world back to You
(Back to You)
Words can build us up
Words can break us down
Start a fire in our hearts
Or put it out
I don’t wanna say a word
Unless it points the world back to You
Less than four months after Contemporary Christian rapper tobyMac debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, Grammy® Award-winning singer/songwriter Chris Tomlin also enters the chart on top, with 73,000 copies of his new release, Burning Lights, sold this week. It is only the fourth time in history that a Christian music album has entered that chart at No. 1.
Burning Lights, the follow up to the Grammy® Award-winning And If Our God Is For Us… (winner for Best Christian or Gospel Album), features the top 10 hit, Whom Shall I Fear (God Of Angel Armies), alongside a new recording of Tomlin’s previous hit, White Flag, off the Passion release of the same title. Also featured in the release are Contemporary Christian artists Lecrae (Awake My Soul), Kari Jobe (Crown Him (Majesty)), Christy Nockels (Jesus, Son Of God) and Phil Wickham (Thank You God For Saving Me).
Paul Baloche’s new Christian Soft AC/Inspo single, “All Because of the Cross,” stands to become another worship classic. It combines verses from the classic “Nothing But the Blood,” and integrates an original chorus. Clearly written for communal worship, “All Because of the Cross” is powerful beyond words. This track is lifted off the Christian journeyman artist’s latest, “The Same Love.”
ALL BECAUSE OF THE CROSS Lyrics
Paul Baloche
VERSE 1
What can wash a- way my sin, nothing but the blood of Jesus
What can make me whole again, nothing but the blood of Jesus
VERSE 2
For my pardon this I see, nothing but the blood of Jesus
For my cleansing this my plea, nothing but the blood of Jesus
CHORUS
All because of the cross we are white as snow
All be- cause of what You’ve done
There’s a cleansing flow for all who come
Lord, we come
VERSE 3
This is all my hope and peace, nothing but the blood of Jesus
This is all my righteousness, nothing but the blood of Jesus
CHORUS
All because of the cross we are white as snow
All be- cause of what You’ve done there’s a cleansing flow
All because of the cross we are white as snow
All be- cause of what You’ve done
There’s a cleansing flow for all who come
Lord, we come
Lord, we come
Lord, we come
Oh, the blood of Jesus
Oh, the blood of Jesus
Oh, the blood of Jesus
Oh, the blood of Jesus
On the cross, our sin erased
In Your death, our life was raised
On the cross, our sin erased
In Your death, our life was raised
Three years ago, my wife Caths and I decided to start a family tradition by checking into a Manila hotel with our kids to welcome in the new year. This year, we decided to check into the Hotel H2O, a hotel in Manila located inside – or beside, if you want to be technical – Manila Ocean Park. Caths got a great deal off Agoda, and we checked in January 1st.
The Pro’s:
Surprisingly good room service food. The food was delicious!
Delicious breakfast spread. The breakfast was delicious!
The Con’s:
Room design. It’s quite lovely, really, and many details are gorgeous. But I’m not quite sure how to feel about the rather open toilet – just frosted glass over the intimate parts – and the shower virtually across the bed.
It’s quite the walk. I walked to Starbucks, and it was a good ten-minute walk. Plus the air outside the hotel smelled of the sea, and the Manila Bay doesn’t smell as ocean-fresh as it used to.
There’s not a lot to see in-hotel. Aside from the ocean park, well, there’s not a lot to see. You need to cross the street to get back into the swing of things.
The pool is so public. The kiddie swimming pool is in full view of the spectators at the animal show; the adult swimming pool is the pool of the animal show.
Friendly but loooong service. The people were nice. Slow, but nice.
My little girl horsing around.
The vanity and the wash area… right outside the shower… right beside the bed.
Reading “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies” to my little girl.
My family at Hotel H2O
Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and we aren’t averse to coming back if the kids would like to.
Contemporary Christian rock band Finding Favour has earned chart ink with Slip On By, which enters the Radio and Records Christian AC chart this week at number 29. The Vidalia, GA band has crafted an emotional and inspiring ballad about making every moment count, as Slip On By tells several stories of life’s important moments not valued, from the perspective of an old man waxing poetic about his youth gone by. Blake NeeSmith (vocals), Ricky Dunn (lead guitar, piano), Dustin Daniels (bass) and Allen Dukes (guitar) have created quite the tearjerker with Slip On By, and methinks that, in light of the new year – and that they’re signed with Gotee Records, and anything tobyMac touches is gold – that this could be a Top 10 hit.
SLIP ON BY Lyrics
Finding Favour
Early morning by the riverside,
Saw an old man waiting for a bite
We started talking and he took me back in time
He said “I was young, and thought I’d always be
Then I woke up, now I’m 83
There’s so much I missed
Oh how I wish I could get back all that time I wasted.”
I see the tears of a young bride
The morning that we had our first fight
I should’ve held her tight
And on the day that my momma died
I hung up the phone and never said goodbye
Don’t let it slip on
Don’t let it slip on
Don’t let it slip on by
Well he looked up, tears in his eyes
Said “I’m not sure if you were lookin’ for advice
There’s just something about you that reminds me of me.”
“It ain’t easy always lookin’ back
But it seems these days that it’s all I have
What hurts me the most, is knowin’ what could have been
And if I listen real close, sometimes I can…”
Hear the sound of my little boy sayin’
“Daddy can you come play with me?”
But I was too busy
Then one day, my baby grew up and went to war
I never thought he’d be gone in the blink of an eye
So don’t let it slip on
Don’t let it slip on
Don’t let it slip on by
I shook the old man’s hand and I thanked him
And I drove home as fast as I could go
Just to let her know that I need her
That I love her
That I’m never gonna let another moment like this slip on by
Don’t let it slip on by
We’re only here for a little while
And God gives us only so much precious time
So don’t let it slip on
Don’t let it slip on
Don’t let it slip on by
Don’t let it slip on by
Hallyu stars Girls’ Generation has released Dancing Queen, its first official release in almost a year, with the album officially dropping today, January 1. I’ve actually been trying to squeak this one in so I can have a blog entry for January 1 – I made another blog entry, but I’ve been unsuccessful at uploading images for it since my Internet connection here at the hotel I’m currently in, seems to be sketchy – so I trust all y’all SONEs will forgive me if there isn’t any image right now showing up on your screen.
Clearly Dancing Queen will be wildly successful. It is already number one across all the K-pop sales and airplay charts, and will no doubt be Girls’ Generation’s latest chart-topper. This is actually the first Girls’ Generation carrier single in a while that I liked at first listen. Sure, it was originally Mercy by British singer Duffy, continuing a tradition of SNSD picking up songs from other artists that doesn’t appear to be abating anytime soon, but they chose a good pop song to rehash, and I like what they’ve done with it.
On the con’s side, I am not a fan of the dance moves. Girls’ Generation has always had terrific dance moves, but the dance moves on Dancing Queen – oh, the irony of that title – left me a little cold. The only two standout moves in the MV were the John Travolta in Grease-ish “point to the sky” move, and the kitty-cat hand gesture thing so distinctly comparable to T-ara’s Bo Peep. I’ve read enough defenses from my fellow SONEs online that say Girls’ Generation came first, but at this point, what difference does it make? It isn’t particularly fresh.
IMHO, 2012 was a horrible year for many SM Entertainment artists. Despite the brilliance of BoA’s The Only One and f(x)’s Electric Shock, SME sure released some stinkers, including Super Junior’s Sexy Free and Single, its weakest carrier single ever, SHINee’s bizarre Sherlock, EXO’s underwhelming Mama, and TVXQ’s incomprehensible Catch Me and Humanoids.
Clearly, SM Entertainment needs to step their game up this 2013. I think they’re starting off in the right direction with Girls’ Generation’s Dancing Queen, because it’s catchy, but the freshness that Lee Soo Man was famous for, that sound that helped make Hallyu huge the past few years, needs to be returned asap. For starters, stop purchasing songs from overseas. (Please, taking songs from Kesha needs to stop.) Return to that winning K-Pop sound that SME is famous for creating. Stop shooting videos in studio sets or darkly lit rooms – tip o’ the hat to Simon and Martina – and consider a decent storyboard. YG Entertainment is kicking SME’s butt, and other labels like TS Entertainment, Starship Entertainment, and Cube Entertainment are starting to gain momentum. SME needs to get back in the game.
Every year since 1990, I’ve been publishing a weekly music chart. In 2007, I separated the secular radio songs from the Christian songs. Last year’s Top 30 featured a generally weak selection of Christian songs; not so this year. It was a hard fight for the Top 10; every song deserved to be number one for the year.
Contemporary Christian singer Mark Schultz’s comeback single, All Things Possible, also a Top 10 hit on the Billboard Christian Songs chart and a former number one on Radio and Records’ Soft AC chart, is my number one song of the year edging out Forever JONES’ stellar Hold Me Still. Sentimental favorite Ashmont Hill’s Love Lifted Me, a late November release that’s been playing nonstop since I downloaded it off iTunes, finishes the year at number three.
Meanwhile, on the secular chart, Hallyu superstars Big Bang edges out girl group Secret for year-end number one honors, as Fantastic Baby trumps Poison for the top spot. Secret, however, places two songs in the Top 10, as late October single Talk That finishes at number four for the year, just behind 1, 2, 3, 4 by rookie singer Lee Hi. The highest-ranking English song is Jason Mraz’s I Won’t Give Up at number six.
11. Spy, Super Junior
12. Twinkle Twinkle, Secret
13. Fantastic Baby (Orchestra), Walt Ribeiro
14. Twinkle, Taetiseo
15. Somebody That I Used to Know, Pentatonix
16. Love is Move (Japanese), Secret
17. Should I Catch A Cold, Lee Seung Woo
18. Trouble Maker, Trouble Maker
19. Venus, Shinhwa
20. Sexy Free and Single, Super Junior
21. Sige Lang, Quest
22. Sherlock, Shinee
23. Hey You, CN BLUE
24. Good Girl, Carrie Underwood
25. Warrior, B.A.P.
26. I Love You, 2NE1
27. We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, Taylor Swift
28. Good Vibrations, Wilson Phillips
29. The Woman I Love, Jason Mraz
30. And I Am Telling You, Jessica Sanchez f/ Jennifer Holliday
My wife and I spent seven glorious days in South Korea in November 2012 as our 10th wedding anniversary celebration. This is the first of five blog entries on our trip; it focuses on preparing for the trip.
Step One: Secure visas. Filipino travelers need visas to enter South Korea. My wife and I chose not to buy airplane tickets to South Korea before securing our visas, so that in case we were denied, we wouldn’t lose any money. (Some travelers, on the other hand, choose to buy tickets before; that’s their strategy, but I’m not particularly sold on that strategy. For one thing, embassy officials rather resent the emotional blackmail that comes with “But I already have the ticket!”) [Learn more about Filipino travelers may secure a South Korean visa.]
We submitted our application for visas on the first week of October; we got our approved visa five working days later.
Step two: Secure airline tickets. There are many budget airlines now from which one may secure tickets for great rates. Cebu Pacific is known for its piso-fare seat sales, and Jeju Air flies travelers straight into Seoul for a fraction of the cost on a major carrier. Caths and I bought round-trip tickets from Zest Air into Incheon for less than Php20,000 all-in. The flight was relatively comfortable – seats could’ve been bigger, but what do you expect on an airbus? – and, thankfully, uneventful. I can’t tell you how many times I fly airplanes and get visions of crashing. Man, I have got to conquer that spirit of fear!
Caths with a Starbucks macaroon, lounging on our IB Ville bed. Oddly enough, we didn’t take a picture of IB Ville. Maybe that’s an indication of how unremarkable the place is. But it offers the best location at the best prices in town.
Step three: Book accommodations. In choosing where to say, Caths and I had two considerations. The first was price. Spending less on accommodations would mean having more to spend on other things; since we really only needed a place to sleep, we weren’t that particular about the facilities offered by the hotel. Second was location. We wanted a place that was close to the subway because we planned to travel around Seoul.
Caths and I settled on IB Ville, a cozy little apartelle in Myeong Dong, that came recommended by Caths’ best friend, Jenna. Fantastic location in the heart of Seoul’s popular shopping district. It’s a lazy five-minute walk from the subway (two minutes if you like walking fast, like me), a ten-minute walk from the beautiful Namsan Tower (where Jun Pyo from Boys Over Flowers proposed to Jan Di, and so naturally, the Boys Over Flowers fan that is my wife needed to make a pilgrimage), and, if you cross the street – BOOM! – you’re in shopping wonderland! Shoes, clothes, technology, food, and, naturally, streets and streets of cosmetics. Fantastic location, IB Ville.
And get this. Php1,600 a night. BOOYAH.
We also decided to book hotels in Incheon because our flight times were odd (we flew in around November 10, Saturday, 7pm, and flew out around on November 16, Friday, at 11am). On our first night, we booked a room at the Incheon Airport Guest House Koreamie. On our way out, we looked at the Lazy Bird Guesthouse. More information on these hotels in the posts to come.
Step Four: Track the weather. Caths and I were well aware of the weather, thanks to AccuWeather. We downloaded their mobile app, and were able to track the temperatures and weather in Seoul well ahead of time. Because of AccuWeather, we planned accordingly and dressed for low temperatures that our tropical Filipino bodies weren’t used to. It also predicted – correctly – it would rain, and so we packed umbrellas. Always track the weather, friends; it’ll save you a world of hurt.
Even with the sun out, the temperature at Gyeongbokgung Palace, one of Korea’s top tourist spots, was a numbing seven degrees.
Step Five: Pack clothes accordingly. We were in Seoul from November 10 to 16. It was cold by no stretch of the imagination; our coldest there was around -7 degrees. So pack clothes designed to insulate and heat. We borrowed large winter jackets from friends. Best decision, because it was really cold.
Pack your shoes well too. I also brought the wrong footwear, choosing to bring my Bradford elevator shoes instead of sneakers. (Oh, vanity, thou art a pain in the butt.) While immensely comfy, the sheer amount of walking we did made those shoes impractical. I ended up buying new Puma shoes at half-price off in Myeong Dong. That inflated our shopping costs by Php2,600, still pricey despite being a steal from the original Php5,200 cost of the shoes.
Step Six: Enable roaming on your phone. Make sure to enable your phone on “roaming mode” in case you needed to make phone calls. We were able to call the Korean Tourist Office to ask questions about how to proceed to Everland when the directions we downloaded included a bus that wasn’t on the list at our bus stop. We were able to return text messages to people sending us SMS from Manila. Two considerations: the cost of calls and SMS are prohibitive: two calls totaling seven minutes cost us almost Php1000. Each SMS was worth Php20. So communicate wisely.
Step Seven: Stay wired and connected. Korea is one of the most wired places in the world. The subway, the hotels, the major tourist spots, most of them have free WIFI. Therefore, it was important to have a smartphone that could connect to the Internet. We were able to use Google Translate to converse with Korean shop owners and haggle on prices. LOL We also were able to upload pictures of the trip in real-time.
Step Eight: Bring lots of money. I’m sorry if that sounds painfully blunt, but it’s true. Food isn’t particularly cheap in Korea when you compare costs to Manila, and you will want to try all kinds of food there. The shopping isn’t like Manila’s either – the Philippine mall culture spoils us for shopping – but there are still many things you can buy, especially cosmetics, fashion, and entertainment. There are several tourist spots that will require admission fees. You may want to try out their coffee houses, their spas, their nightspots. To be completely honest, we chose to travel light and book cheap but well-situated hotels because we fully intended to shop. And it was worth virtually every Korean won.
Contemporary Christian singer Britt Nicole has had an amazing year. She’s had a Top 10 hit – All This Time, which peaked at number three – and received her first Grammy nomination for Best Contemporary Christian album. (Well-deserved, because dang, Gold was amazing.)
She gives her fans a Christmas treat with this acoustic version of O Holy Night. Thanks, Britt. Happy Christmas!
My family and I were recently at Eastwood Mall when my wife and I spotted this unusual selection of bouquets at a side store.
“Are those flowers?” I asked.
“They look like… fruit,” Caths replied.
Our curiosity piqued, we stepped in and were astonished by the lovely selection of bouquets, all made of fruit. The inventive store was called Fruiquet – pronounced froo-kay – and we were pleasantly surprised with the uniqueness of what they had to offer. We didn’t buy any Fruiquets that day, but we made a mental note to get a set or two the next time we were in need of an attractive and unique present.
I received the following press release and am publishing it for you in case you’re looking for last-minute Christmas presents. You can visit FruiQuet.com for more information.

Press release follows
We often find ourselves stressed out during the Yuletide Season looking for the most appropriate Christmas presents for our loved ones. Case in point — what do you actually give to your big boss who seems to have everything already? Or to your better half who expects something extra-ordinary and nothing like the one you gave a year ago? It’s a good thing there is a unique concept that is starting to be the talk of the town in Metro Manila.
FruiQuet (prounced froo-kei) is short for fruit bouquet. Quite popular in the United States, Europe and parts of the Middle East, this unique gift idea is now in the Philippines. It offers various fruit concoctions that are cut, molded and arranged to resemble eye-catching flower arrangements. The difference is that FruiQuets are very practical since they are edible and are made of the finest and freshest fruits in season such as kiwis, cantaloupes, watermelons, oranges, green or red apples, seedless grapes and American strawberries. Depending on the chosen design, some fruit chunks may be dipped in premium white or milk chocolate.
Operating for two (2) years now, FruiQuet has already brought smiles to thousands of Filipino recipients during special occasions. Senders come from people with discriminating taste particularly homemakers from prime villages, showbiz personalities, multinational companies, fan clubs and even Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs). The fruit bouquets may be picked up at any of FruiQuet’s three (3) branches (Katipunan, Eastwood Mall and Shangri-la Plaza) or delivered fresh and chilled right at the door step of the chosen recipient for a reasonable fee.
FruiQuet is proud to offer its Christmas Collection for 2012. Some of its best-selling fruit bouquets for the holidays include Christmassy Tropics (P650), Christmas Fun (P650), Christmas Wish (P800), Yuletide Bells (P1500), Starry Christmas (P1750) and O’ Christmas Tree (P2100).
