Rascal Flatts, “Changed”

Rascal Flatts, “Changed”

Country superstars Rascal Flatts has released Changed as the third single and title track off its latest album, Changed. After the number one success of Banjo and the Top 10 success of its follow-up, Come Wake Me Up,” Gary Levox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney take a bit of a gamble with this clearly spiritual single. It may not be skyrocketing up the country charts – although number 37 isn’t anything to sneeze at, and it’s still rising – but clearly it’s making an impact on the Contemporary Christian radio charts, where the song is one of the most added tracks at AC and Soft Inspo. This is the first Christian chart ink for Levox and company, and it may very well become a Top 10 hit.

CHANGED Lyrics

I came up out of the water
Raise my hands up to the Father
Gave it all to Him that day

Felt a new wind kiss my face
Walked away, eyes wide open
Could finally see where I was goin’

It didn’t matter where I been
I’m not the same man I was then

I got off track, I made mistakes
Backslid my way into that place where souls get lost
Lines get crossed
And the pain won’t go away
I hit my knees, Now here I stand
There I was, now here I am
Here I am
Changed

I got a lot of “Hey, I’m sorry’s”
The things I’ve done, man that was not me
I wish I could take it all back
I just want to tell ‘em that
Tell ‘em that

I got off track, I made mistakes
Backslid my way into that place where souls get lost
Lines get crossed
And the pain won’t go away
I hit my knees, Now here I stand
There I was, now here I am
Here I am

I’ve changed for the better
More smiles, that’s better
I even started to forgive myself

I hit my knees, I’m here, I stand
There I was, now here I am
Here I am, Here I am
I’m changed
Yes, I am
I’m changed for the better

Thank God, I’m changed

Tenth Avenue North, “Worn”

Tenth Avenue North, “Worn”

Contemporary Christian supergroup Tenth Avenue North has released Worn as the second single off The Struggle. A strong follow-up to the number two single, Losing, Worn is an encouraging song of worship and reliance on God for the moments we feel faint. (Yeah, Relient K, I said it.) Somehow, in my gut, after having heard the song and listening to Mike Donnehey’s testimony about the song, I think Worn may exceed the number two finish of its predecessor. It’s strong, it’s powerful, and it will speak to countless lives. What do you think? Do you agree with me?

WORN Lyrics
Tenth Avenue North

I’m tired
I’m worn
My heart is heavy
From the work it takes
To keep on breathing
I’ve made mistakes
I’ve let my hope fail
My soul feels crushed
By the weight of this world

And I know that you can give me rest
So I cry out with all that I have left

Let me see redemption win
Let me know the struggle ends
That you can mend a heart
That’s frail and torn
I wanna know a song can rise
From the ashes of a broken life
And all that’s dead inside can be reborn
Cause I’m worn

I know I need to lift my eyes up
But I’m too weak
Life just won’t let up
And I know that you can give me rest
So I cry out with all that I have left

Let me see redemption win
Let me know the struggle ends
That you can mend a heart
That’s frail and torn
I wanna know a song can rise
From the ashes of a broken life
And all that’s dead inside can be reborn
Cause I’m worn

My prayers are wearing thin
Yeah, I’m worn
Even before the day begins
Yeah, I’m worn
I’ve lost my will to fight
I’m worn
So, heaven come and flood my eyes

Let me see redemption win
Let me know the struggle ends
That you can mend a heart
That’s frail and torn
I wanna know a song can rise
From the ashes of a broken life
And all that’s dead inside can be reborn
Cause all that’s dead inside will be reborn

Though I’m worn
Yeah I’m worn

Josh Wilson, “Carry Me”

Josh Wilson, “Carry Me”

Contemporary Christian singer/songwriter Josh Wilson, who scored a number one hit with Jesus is Alive and a Top 3 hit with I Refuse, among other hits, has released the uptempo track, Carry Me as the carrier single of his upcoming album, out April 9th in digital and compact disc formats across the United States and the rest of the world. The track releases on February 19th on iTunes.

Carry Me has a bright future ahead of it. Already the song is one of the most-added tracks this week on Christian AC and Christian CHR; it seems to be destined to fight for the top against Hawk Nelson’s Words. Written by Wilson in light of several panic attacks that the singer had in months leading to the release of the single, it’s an encouraging prayer of how God can carry us through the most difficult of times. Brilliant single.

CARRY ME Lyrics
Josh Wilson

I try to catch my breath
It hasn’t happened yet
I’m wide awake in the middle of the night scared to death
So I prayed, “God, would You make this stop
Father please hold on to me
You’re all I’ve got!”

Carry me, carry me, carry me now
From my sinking sand to Your solid ground
The only way I’m ever gonna make it out
Is if You carry me, carry me, carry me now
God carry me, carry me, carry me now

Jesus calm my heart
Come near me, please
Lord don’t let these worries get the best of me
Oh I believe, that You’re still here with me
Cause You meant what You said when You said You’d never leave

Carry me, carry me, carry me now
From my sinking sand to Your solid ground
The only way I’m ever gonna make it out
Is if You carry me, carry me, carry me now
God carry me, carry me, carry me now

Carry me
God carry me
Carry me
God carry me

I’m at the end of myself
I know I’ve got nothing left
Feels like I’m stuck in the valley of the shadow of death
And I’ve been down here so long
I just can’t find my way out
Oh God I don’t stand a chance
Unless You carry me now
God carry me now

Carry me, carry me, carry me now
From my sinking sand to Your solid ground
The only way I’m ever gonna make it out
Is if You carry me, carry me, carry me now
God carry me, carry me, carry me now

Carry me now
Carry me now
Carry me now
Carry me now

Billboard Top Christian Songs – January 26, 2013

Billboard Top Christian Songs – January 26, 2013

With Redeemed staying at number one this week, Big Daddy Weave earns a third straight week and a seventh week in total. The three songs that follow – Third Day’s I Need A Miracle at number two, Kristian Stanfill’s One Thing Remains at number three, and Matt Redman’s 10000 Reasons at number four – are all former number one hits as well. Poor Matthew West. LOL Forgiveness peaked at number two, blocked from the top spot by the juggernaut that was Redman’s fourteen week run at number one.

Meanwhile, Josh Wilson’s brand-new single, Carry Me, earns Greatest Gainer honors at it jumps 36-25 this week. Christian rock group Cloverton, on the other hand, earns Hotshot Debut ink with an unusual entry, the holiday-themed A Hallelujah Christmas.

Hawk Nelson featuring Bart Millard, “Words”

Hawk Nelson featuring Bart Millard, “Words”

Contemporary Christian rock band Hawk Nelson has released Words, the carrier single of the new release, Made, set to drop on April 2 in digital and CD formats. Words is receiving phenomenal reactions from the Christian AC community, despite the absence of former lead vocalist Jason Dunn, who left to pursue a solo career. Jonathan Steingard stepped up to the plate and knocked his new role as lead vox out of the ballpark. Together with bassist Daniel Biro and drummer Justin Benner, methinks Hawk Nelson’s new sound will win definitely the band even more fans.

Words offers Christian music lovers an extra treat: guest vocals from MercyMe frontman Bart Millard. Millard’s distinctive vocals add an even more majestic sound to the anthemic chorus of Words. Most added at Christian AC, most added at Christian CHR, one of the most added added at Christian Soft AC/Inspo… mark my words – see what I did there? – Words will be one of Hawk Nelson’s biggest hits ever.

WORDS Lyrics
Hawk Nelson

They’ve made me feel like a prisoner
They’ve made me feel set free
They’ve made me feel like a criminal
Made me feel like a king

They’ve lifted my heart
To places I’d never been
And they’ve dragged me down
Back to where I began

Words can build you up
Words can break you down
Start a fire in your heart or
Put it out

Let my words be life
Let my words be truth
I don’t wanna say a word
Unless it points the world back to You

You can heal the heartache
Speak over the fear
(Speak over the fear)
God, Your voice is the only thing
We need to hear
(We need to hear)

Words can build us up
Words can break us down
Start a fire in our hearts or
Put it out

Let my words be life
Let my words be truth
I don’t wanna say a word
Unless it points the world back to You
(Back to You)

Let the words I say
(Let the words I say)
Be the sound of Your grace
(Sound like Your grace)
I don’t wanna say a word
Unless it points the world back to You

I wanna speak Your love
Not just another noise
Oh, I wanna be Your light
I wanna be Your voice

Let my words be life
Let my words be truth
I don’t wanna say a word
Unless it points the world back to You
(Back to You)

Let the words I say
(Let the words I say)
Be the sound of Your grace
(Sound like Your grace)
I don’t wanna say a word
Unless it points the world back to You
(Back to You)

Words can build us up
Words can break us down
Start a fire in our hearts
Or put it out

I don’t wanna say a word
Unless it points the world back to You
