Finding Favour, “Cast My Cares”

Contemporary Christian pop/rock band Finding Favour has followed up its Top 20 hit, Say Amen, with the equally inspiring Cast My Cares. I am of the opinion that while Say Amen was a great introduction to the band, sort of like how Everything Good introduced a mainstream Christian AC audience to Ashes Remain, but did not help said audience gain interest in the harder sound that Ashes Remain also had to offer, Cast My Cares is more authentic to the sound of the band. With a sound that will easily appeal to fans of Building 429, The City Harmonic, Tenth Avenue North, and Unspoken, Cast My Cares reminds me of crossover hits like We Will Not Be Shaken and Mountaintop. An easily accessible message that will speak to Christians in their valley seasons and a readily likeable instrumentation that builds up nicely towards the chorus and inspiringly towards the bridge may just ensure Finding Favour will earn its–decidedly well-deserved–first Top 10 hit on the big chart. Well-done, FF.

CAST MY CARES Lyrics
Finding Favour

When fear feels bigger than my faith
And struggles steals my breath away
When my back pressed up against the wall
With the weight of my worries stacked up tall
You’re strong enough to hold it all

I will cast my cares on You
You’re the anchor of my hope
The only one who’s in control
I will cast my cares on You
I’ll trade the troubles of this world
For Your peace inside my soul

This war’s not what I would have chosen
But You see the future no one knows yet
And You’re still good when I can’t
See the working of Your hands
You’re holding it all

I will cast my cares on You
You’re the anchor of my hope
The only one who’s in control
I will cast my cares on You
I’ll trade the troubles of this world
For Your peace inside my soul

I’m finding there’s freedom
When I lay it all on Your shoulders

Cast my cares I will, cast my cares I will, cast my cares on You
Cast my cares I will, cast my cares I will, cast my cares on You
Cast my cares I will, cast my cares I will, cast my cares on You

I will cast my cares on You
You’re the anchor of my hope
The only one who’s in control
I will cast my cares on You
I’ll trade the troubles of this world
For Your peace inside my soul

I will cast my cares on You
You’re the anchor of my hope
The only one who’s in control
I will cast my cares on You
I’ll trade the troubles of this world
For Your peace inside my soul

Cast my cares I will, cast my cares I will, cast my cares on You
