Billboard Christian Songs, April 18, 2015

These are the Top 10 songs on Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs chart, as of April 18, 2015. In its 81st week on the chart, Oceans by Hillsong United bumps off Carrie Underwood’s Something in the Water and returns to number one, extending its record (now non-consecutive) run at the top to 46 weeks. While not the record holder for most weeks at number one–that title belongs to Israel ‘s version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow, which ruled for a ridiculous 180 weeks–Oceans is clearly a hit unlike any other. (And a song that, in my opinion, is absolutely gorgeous but is doing something to Christian radio. Seriously, we need to revisit the metrics for this chart. When only one or two songs rule one chart for more than a year, there may be a need to rethink this criteria.)
