Billboard Top Christian Songs – June 2, 2012

Building 429’s Where I Belong earns a 13th week atop Billboard’s Christian Songs chart, although it’s lost its bullet. Nevertheless, Where I Belong is clearly one of the biggest hits for 2012, so the band’s got a lot to be happy about. Meanwhile, interesting that Newsboys’ God’s Not Dead inches up to #2 this week, a new peak, while pushing Jeremy Camp’s Overcome down to #3. I honestly never thought God’s Not Dead would reach this far, but here’s hoping it goes all the way, because if it does, that would make Michael Tait the second former member of dcTalk to top the Christian charts. (tobyMac has had several #1 hits since the legendary Christian trio’s breakup, which would make Kevin Max the last member of the group to earn #1 chart ink, if Michael Tait goes to #1.)

Greatest Gainer honors go to Tenth Avenue North’s Losing (pictured), while Hot Shot Debut honors go to Chris August’s Center of It at #36, with Big Daddy Weave’s Redeemed right after it at #41.
